Cusco: Moray, Maras Salt Mines & Chinchero Weavers Half-Day

Travel through the historic Urubamba Valley on an unparalleled half-day tour from Cusco and pass the snow-capped peaks of the Peruvian Andes. Meander through lush yellow fields of wheat and sleepy little villages en route to Moray. This experience begins with a hotel pickup in Cusco between 8:00 AM and 8:25 AM. If you’ve selected the hotel pickup option, please be ready 10 minutes before the scheduled time. If you’ve chosen a meeting point, the pickup will be at 8:20 AM. We will then continue on this wonderful journey, traveling for about 40 minutes to our first stop, which will be Chinchero. Here, we’ll stop to visit the local baths and learn about Incan textile techniques, where you’ll be shown the process of dyeing alpaca wool. Next, we will head to Moray. Upon arrival, you’ll discover the incredible engineering of the Incas as you explore their mysterious circular terraces. Afterward, we will proceed to the nearby village of Maras, where you’ll learn about its rich history as a center for salt production. Enjoy the stunning landscapes and admire the unique sight of more than 3,000 salt ponds cascading down into the Sacred Valley. The day will conclude with our return to Cusco, allowing you time to continue exploring this magnificent city. We will arrive around 2:30 PM.
