I was picked up on time (6am) and taken to the train station. On arrival at Machu Picchu station, we got the bus up the mountain. Our guide was a very nice girl who explained what the various different parts of Machu Picchu were used for and a bit of general Inca history. I am a solo traveller and our guide was happy to take some pictures of me which was most appreciated as nobody else in the group spoke English. We were inside Machu Picchu for approximately 3 hours then we had a late lunch at one of the many restaurants nearby. I found the tour to be a bit pricey compared to other activities in and around Cusco but it was very convenient to avoid walking the 4/5 day Inca trail. I would recommend this trip even though it was a little dear.
Our day trip was amazing. Ana came the day prior to give us all the details about our trip which was extremely helpful. Our guide Ruth the day of was great she went above and beyond. Someone got sick and she made sure of their well being. She had great communication and was super sweet. Our driver Tomas stayed waiting for us over 2 hours do to train delays. Highly recommend this tour. Do it you won’t regret it.
