Full description

Begin with pickup from your hotel or the central meeting point in Cusco. Meet your tour guide and receive a short briefing before taking private transport towards Saqsayhuaman Ranch. Here, you'll get acquainted with your horse before starting the journey. Ride across the beautiful pasture lands where you'll see locals taking care of herds of sheep and alpacas. Enjoy fantastic panoramic views over the country fields and surrounding mountains. Upon reaching the Temple of the Moon, learn about its fascinating history from your guide. Next, at the locally-named Devil's Balcony, pass through a natural cave formed thousands of years ago. These caves were considered to be sacred by the Incas. After this, enjoy some enjoy snacks provided before returning to the ranch to board the private transport back to Cusco.

I feel such a special connection to this space. We had experienced a shamanic ritual here a few days prior and it was beautiful being able to explore more of the area and continue learning about it's history. If you want to take pictures ask at the places you want, we missed the best view for a picture only because we didn't ask. Our guides were amazing and gave us so much insight into history. I haven't ridden in ten years and this was one of my favorite experiences of our trip. I wish the horseback riding lasted more than two hours, but that's just an invitation for me to come back again. I'm grateful to the land, the horses, and our guides.
