Originally when I booked the experience, I had chosen an earlier time to start my excursion. I also chose the latest time possible to return. Surprisingly, and although a bit confusing, the experience was pretty organized. Someone had picked us up from the hotel, they dropped us at Ollantaytambo where my party and I took a train to Agua Caliente. From there someone took us to the bus stop. Once we were on the bus, a guide met us at the top to give us a tour. The experience was the same returning home. My only gripe was the communication with the coordinators. There were delayed responses or no response at all, even when I’ve tried emailing the coordinators for questions, I received an email stating that the address was no longer in use. There were concerns about our times to enter Machu Picchu since one of our members had a different time. It was also confusing when they emailed me the day prior saying that my pick up time was going to be from 2-4am. Just many uncertainties.

This experience couldn´t have been any better. Cusco and Machu Pichu are open and pretty close to back to normal. You are expected to still wear a mask, but other than that, really enjoyable. Our van to Ollantaytambo arrived right on time and the driver was very friendly and accommodating. We had a member of the group who was struggling with altitude sickness and he stopped a couple of times to let her get some air and make sure that she was good to continue. Get your guide sends all of the train tickets, bus ticket and park entrance tickets to your phone, which made travel super simple and quick. The train ride was beautiful and more than we had imagined. When we got off the train in Machu Pichu town (Aguas Calientes) our guide was waiting for us and pretty much stayed with us the entire day until we got back on the train. He had some good food recommendations for us and helped us every step of the tour. He was knowledgeab and friendly and we would definitely use get your guide again.
