Enjoy the spectacular landscapes around Cusco on horseback on a half-day excursion. You’ll ride through open fields and to Andean villages, and explore the remains of ancient Inca culture at the Saksayhuaman and Tambomachay complexes.
What to Expect
Horseback riding is the ideal way to experience the spectacular landscapes in the Cusco area, between the Saksayhuaman and Tambomachay Inca complexes.
On this half-day tour you’ll ride in the upper part of the mountains, crossing a small valley and eucalyptus forest to visit the 4 important archeological sites of this region: Puca-pucara, Tambomachay, Qenko, and Saqsayhuaman. A local guide will provide commentary.
After visiting the Sacsayhuaman complex, you’ll ride by the Temple of the Moon, an ancient Incan ceremonial site, and the Monkey's Cave. You’ll enjoy views of the Ausangate, the highest snow-capped mountain in the region.
Explore the archeological site near the temple, where you’ll leave your horse, before heading back to your Cusco hotel.
