What people are saying about Cumbria
This was such an amazing tour. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about Scotland's monuments and history. Even though the journey between stops was lengthy in parts, he had a lot of interesting tidbits about the surrounding landscape and towns and entertained us with lots of Scottish music. Rosslyn Chapel is a must to see, with its fascinating carvings and rich history, and its use in the Da Vinci Code (though they don't focus much on this). Hadrian's wall was also fantastic piece of history and there is plenty of time to explore. You stop in a couple of quaint towns as well, and if time, at couple of extra interesting viewpoints like the Scottish/English border. For those concerned about taking this tour while COVID is a risk, it felt very safe to us; the tour guide sanitised the bus regularly and we were well spread out from other guests. Rosslyn Chapel was actually less crowded due to restrictions as well which was great.
Really good experience, the tour guide was awesome and told us part of the story that were very interesting, not just from Lake District, but also from Manchester, as we were leaving the city and then coming back. However I was expecting we would have more time to hike and explore, but the stops we did were about 1 hour long, which made having lunch difficult also. I think having one less stop may be better to give people more time to explore and have meals
A brilliant tour, with a brilliant tour guide. I felt really informed about all the sights we saw and all the cumbrian culture and traditions. The views were spectacular. It really helped that our tour guide Mark really did seem as though he loved what he does! He was fantastic. Highly recommend the tour. Totally worth it.
What a wonderful tour. Would go on it again with less cloud and more sun. Our tour guide Gerry was very informative. Beautiful scenery and plenty of stops. Ice cream, gingerbread!
Beautiful scenery! The guides were knowledgeable and fun. The roads wind around quite a bit in some places. If you are prone to motion sickness, be sure to bring/take dramamine.
