13 most Instagrammable places in Paris
From iconic landmarks to hidden gems, these Instagrammable spots in Paris are the best places to take the perfect photos.
There are few cities as Instagrammable as Paris. From the banks of the Seine and cute city squares to the magnificent Arc de Triomphe and glittering Eiffel Tower, the city is packed with picturesque, grid-worthy locations. But where are the best places in Paris to get the perfect photo?
Some of our favorite travel creators have shared their go-to spots for the best shots of the French capital. Of course, the Eiffel Tower is in there, but there are plenty of less-popular spots and hidden gems that are just as photogenic. And because the best Instagram posts are the ones you haven’t seen a thousand times before, they’ve also shared their tips on snapping the perfect picture. Don’t worry about finding them — there’s a Google Maps link to lead you to each one.
Here’s where to find Paris’ most Instagrammable spots.
1. Trocadéro
“Trocadéro is one of my favorite places for photos of the Eiffel Tower. It has an elevated position and looks directly across the river onto the iconic landmark which is framed by the curves of the Palais de Chaillot. To avoid crowds, it’s best to be there in the early morning, but it feels no less special to stand there in the evening and wait for the lights to sparkle on the hour.”-@marcia.explores
2. Louvre Pyramids
“It’s no question that the pyramids at the Louvre Museum are among the most Instragrammable places in Paris. Surrounded by the 16th-century palace, their modern glass structure forms a spectacular contrast. If you want something a little more unique than the trompe l'oeil of touching the tip of the pyramid, head there early morning or late evening when it’s quiet and the pyramids are illuminated. Play around with the angles — you can get higher up on the stairs at the eastern end of the courtyard for a perfectly symmetrical photo, shoot from below for a unique perspective, or catch the reflections in the pools that surround the pyramids.”–@herzatlas
3. Palais-Royal
“Nestled close to the Louvre is the beautiful Palais-Royal. Once a historic palace, the gardens are now open to the public, and its courtyard is dotted with black-and-white candy-striped posts of various heights — an art installation by Daniel Buren created almost 40 years ago. You won’t be the only one there taking photos for the ‘gram, but it’s easy to find a unique frame among the 252 columns.”-@realworldrunaway
4. Le Consulat, Montmartre
“The Montmartre neighborhood is home to many cute cafes and restaurants, but the corner location of the storied Le Consulat makes it one of the most famous with a gorgeous, Wes Anderson-esque exterior. It’s a fully working cafe and a favorite of local artists, so be respectful of the owners and customers when taking photos. Either go early before it gets busy, or better yet, stop for a coffee or lunch and take a look inside too.”-@realworldrunaway
5. Avenue de New York
“Want an epic view of the Eiffel Tower without the crowds? Head to Avenue de New York. Running along the Seine, the avenue offers plenty of different spots to photograph the tower and is often less crowded than other areas. Just watch out for bikes as there’s a popular cycle path near the sidewalk.”-@realworldrunaway
6. Montmartre photobooths
“There are several of these vintage photo booths dotted around Paris, but the one in Montmartre is by far the most Instagrammable. It's open as a working photo booth from 9:00 AM-10:00 PM, Wednesday to Sunday, and can have long lines. You can go any time if you just want to take photos outside.”-@realworldrunaway
7. Carrousel de Saint-Pierre
“For a fairytale photo in front of Montmartre’s iconic Carrousel de Saint-Pierre, head to Square Louise Michel below the Sacre-Coeur Basilica. Get there early to beat the crowds and, if you want the most amazing photo, dress in pastel shades to match the carousel’s dreamy vintage decor.”-@laurencottsie
8. Pink Mamma
“This place had a viral rise to fame on TikTok, but it lives up to the hype. Ask to be seated on the third floor and book the last possible slot for lunchtime which is 2:00 PM. The kitchen closes at 3:30 PM which means everyone leaves around this time. By the time you're finished eating, you'll have the IG-worthy staircase all to yourself, just like I did. Try the truffle pasta and thank me later.”-@laurencottsie
9. Luxembourg Garden
“To feel like a true Parisian head to Luxembourg Garden and enjoy the peaceful oasis of greenery and flowers in the 6th arrondissement. The mini boating lake in front of the Luxembourg Palace is the best photo spot. If you’re a stickler for symmetry in your photos, it's worth noting that the green chairs are movable, so pick them up and align them exactly how you want to for your perfect shot.”-@laurencottsie
10. Wall of Love
“The Wall of Love, or Le Mur des Je t'aime, is one of the most Instagrammable and romantic things to see in Paris. A symbol of love, it is located in a gorgeous garden at Place des Abbesses, in Montmartre. The 40 square-meters mural features 612 tiles with the words “I love you” written 311 times in 250 languages. Look out for the red fragments that symbolize pieces of a broken heart, all gathered together in one place on the wall.”-@hakuna.matravelers
11. Pont Alexandre III
“Paris’ fanciest bridge, Pont Alexandre III, creates a stunning backdrop. For the perfect shot, find the spot on the Right Bank of the Seine near the beautiful Promenade Cours de la Reine and snap from a distance to capture the bridge and the Eiffel Tower in the background. Zoom in to amplify those landmarks, and cut out passersby.”-@estherscape
12. Opera Garnier
“Visiting Opera Garnier is like stepping into a world of opulence and artistry. It’s as photogenic from the outside as it is in, and elegance takes center stage whether there’s a performance or not. Take a tour if you don’t have tickets, but don’t miss the chance to see inside this magnificent building.”-@mrshutterup
13. La Favorite
"La Favorite is undoubtedly Paris’ most Instafamous café. There are pink flowers covering the building both inside and out, pink-and-white striped awnings, pink terrace seating, and photogenic plates and cocktails that all combine to make it an Instagram hit. My tip? Book ahead and dress for the occasion."-@bleetary_zw
