We got a call from Explorida on the very rainy morning of our Manatee viewing cruise. They wanted to ensure us that if we wanted to reschedule for another day, we could do so but since we were on the road for an hour already, we decided to go ahead. Captain John met us at the dock and asked us again as it was really raining. He was still happy to take us out so again we decided to go. We had the boat to ourselves and had a great time. Captain John quickly found some manatees for us and we stayed in place for a while so we could watch them. There were groups of swimmers with snorkels and Capt. John was very helpful to them and other boats that were searching for Manatees as well! We probably saw about 5-6 manatees in total but it was so worth it to see our grandchildren enjoying seeing them and the other wildlife out in the bay. We were pretty soggy but it didn’t dampen our excitement!
it was a great day with Kelly, our guide. It was a nice day on the water. We didn't see a lot of manatees but did get pretty close to one. The season ended in March so we were happy to see one up close.
