Our guide was lovely and loved to talk about her experiences on Crete, as well as the historical context of the Old Town. All the food was very, very good and I would gladly go back and eat at each of the stops. It was fun to compare the different architectural styles and decide which was our favorite. The phyllo dough demonstration was very cool and the owner is a world-renowned phyllo dough maker. Their baklava was about as good as mine! While I thought the amount of time we had was more than enough and we probably could have squeezed in a gelato stop at the end, it was nice to just relax and eat and talk. A little different than the fast-paced walking food tour we did in Athens (which was led by a Cretan guide) and the food was just as phenomenal. Enjoy the slower pace and savor the excellent quality of the food, honey and raki. It helps to take this tour early in your vacation so you know when you are eating something mediocre vs excellent.
We had a fantastic tour with Michael our guide. Michael was very knowledgeable on the history on the town and Crete in general. Also able to explain about life in the town currently. Each place we stopped was relaxing and all the food was tasty and plentiful. The restaurant was such a great place and would return there. The olive oil and honey tasting was very enjoyable and again learnt lots. Would highly recommend this tour especially as it gave you a guide to the old town ( which can be a little confusing 😊) and some good places to eat.
