Our coach guide was excellent, informative and friendly. Because of the large group size of 35, I think, there was a lot of delay setting off due to waiting far too long for latecomers. The group size also meant we waited far too long to be given tickets and audio sets. The knossos guide was appalling, rambling in a monotone and showing pictures from a book, not a clue what or why as we found the excellent information boards and the site itself all we needed. The optional museum visit is a must, so many artifacts clearly described in greek and English, don't skip this part of the trip!

Knossos palace is a must see whilst in Crete. The guide on the bus there and at the Site were extremely knowledgeable. The only slight downside is that you don’t get long in Heraklion after the palace (2.5 hours), and if you’re planning on going to the museum there can sometimes be a queue to get in, which means you don’t have long around the actual museum and then have even less time to go into Heraklion to walk around/look for something to eat. However still a great trip that we really enjoyed

Tour of the palace of Knossos and optionally also the archaeological museum of Heraklion, the combination is highly recommended. If you go to Crete a must do. Also nice to see the center of the other big city of Crete for those residing in Chania. Too bad you don't have more time to visit it.
