Full description
The boat departs from Kissamos Port and sails for about an hour in the bay, against a stunning backdrop of steep cliffs and rocks, incredible secluded beaches and the infinite blue. Have the chance to see a large cave, which is thought to be an ancient shipyard. At the end of the bay, the boat will sail between Gramvousa Island and Cape Vouxa. The landscape is breathtaking against the backdrop of Valenti, Pontikonisi, Balos Lagoon and Imeri Gramvousa. The boat shall arrive at the small port of Gramvousa, where you shall stay for about 2 hours. The location of Gramvousa, the Cretan nature, the legends and the turbulent history of the area exude a magical aura. The landscape is spectacular and the beach is adorned by a lonely shipwreck. The highest point on the island, atop a steep rock, at an altitude of 137 meters, is dominated by the famous castle of Gramvousa. You may also swim in the area next to the Church of Agioi Apostoloi, stay on the ship to relax or have some fun on the water slide. After a 2-hour stop on Gramvousa, the boat will depart for the Balos Lagoon, which will be reached after approximately 20 minutes. Balos is listed as one of the best beaches in the world. This exotic beach-lagoon and rare natural monument is situated between the Gramvousa Peninsula and Cape Tigani. You can swim in the lukewarm, turquoise blue waters, relax on the pink sandy beach or admire the natural beauty, the rocks and the cliffs rising above you. You will have the chance to stay in this paradise for about 3 hours.

Boat is living from the port. Plenty of space to park the car. There is a big snack inside the boat with drinks/food. They take credit cards. Overall, it’s more like a ferry that bring you to a place more than a tour so if you are expecting this it is okay.

The beach is truly beautiful and the boat has a well-furnished self-service bar /restaurant to make the journey more enjoyable. However be aware that the beach has no infrastructure whatsoever, except a few umbrellas, which were fully booked when we landed, so you better rent a small one from the boat if you want a little shade, otherwise the 3-hour stopover can be unbearable. Regarding the booking: we purchased the ticket online with GetYourGuide, however we still had to wait 30 minutes in the line under the sun to exchange them...

It is a travel experience that must be included in a visit to Crete. If the weather is good, the boat trip will be very quiet, attractive for its views and will take you to destinations such as the island with its Venetian fort from where if you propose to climb, you can see along with the architecture of centuries ago, an imposing landscape of Infinite sea and sky dotted with islands wherever you look. It feels like the chest swells when you breathe in that pure air and absorb energies from the environment. The various beaches that form in the Balos lagoon will then allow you to walk through its shallow waters and go through it completely, and although it is large, you can also walk towards deeper sectors and enjoy calm baths in calm waters. The fine sand, white in some sectors and pink in others, gives a crystalline background to its waters, wherever you look. You just have to be careful with the wind, the scorching sun and wear special shoes for places with rocks. Beauty.
