Spend a relaxing day swimming in the clear blue waters, relaxing on the pink sand beach, and soaking in the unique landscape of Elafonisi. Start with a hotel pick up and take in the lush green landscape en route to the island as you travel through the impressive Topolia Gorge and pass many traditional villages. Stop to purchase coffee and breakfast in the village of Elos, known for its chestnut trees. After arriving at Elafonisi, enjoy 4 hours of relaxing on the beach and swimming in the crystal-clear waters. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local tavern (not included). Situated just off the island of Crete, Elafonisi is easily reached by walking through the shallow waters. Both the beach and island are protected wildlife areas of rare beauty.

This tour was great! We had plenty of time at the beach itself and we really enjoyed having information about the island from our guide during the ride. We enjoyed the other stops we've done, although we would have like more time at the restaurant in the afternoon for lunch, we had to rush to eat. Other than that, a really great experience, we recommend!

The day trip was well planned and had just the right amount of stops with adequate time at each. At first you stop at a cave, enter a 10 minute mini hike up a mountain to wake those sleepy bones and can get yourself some breakfast at the cafe there. Next you spend 4 hours at beautiful Elafonisi beach which is plenty but time still runs fast in this gorgeous place. You have plenty of opportunity to eat and drink here. Afterwards there is a 1 h late lunch or snack break in Elos at a tavern and I found that the scheduling and pacing of the day was perfect. The tour explanations on the bus are interesting and the views excellent across the gorge. The only thing to be mindful of is that the bus seats are very tight and you might not have the chance to sit next to your friends depending on when you get picked up.

Overall, the tour was great and our guide provided excellent tips. One note, which has nothing to do with the service or quality of the tour, is that the beach is very crowded, and there actually isn’t that much pink sand left so it looks like a normal beach. After talking to other travelers, it sounds like Balos beach is actually the nicer/better beach of the two.
