Full description
Ierapetra is situated on the southern coast of Crete. As it is the only town in the south, it is referred to as the Bride of Libyan Sea. With the rising of the sun, head to the gorgeous port of Ierapetra and set sail toward Chrissi Island.   Chrissi Island, or Gaidouronisi, meaning Golden Beach or Donkey Island, is an uninhabited island around 15 kilometers south of Ierapetra. 7 kilometers in length and covering an area of 4,743 km, the island is covered in golden sand and a rare variety of Lebanon cedars.  Anchoring on the south side of the island, head to the nearby beach for swimming and sunbathing. Walk the path running through the island and the cedar forest to the otherworldly beach of Chrissi Ammos. Hunt for seashells, check out the rockier coast of the island, or make the trek to the island’s lighthouse.  Swim in turquoise crystal clear waters and soak up the sun in this magical and totally undisturbed place of natural beauty.

A great day; October 10th, warm weather, no wind, very few people; the island was a real paradise! Wow Great snorkeling on the East side; the Golden beach is spectacular; the cedars are also very nice. It was such a great day; I wish we stayed longer. The company was very efficient; new and good quality transport, ran on time, no waiting; friendly guides, spoke many languages; there was a bit of time in Ierapetra - it was fun to walk around the seaside and grab an orange juice. The boat was also fine, though the service in cafeteria is very slow; consider grabbing your coffee / juice in town and drinking onboard. We left at 8:35 from Elounda, took 10:30 am ferry to Chrissi; the ferry back ran at 15:40 and i was back in my hotel just before 6 pm.

Superb excursion! very nice organization with a guide who picks us up 10min walk from the hotel, and takes us to the bus 10km further. one hour boat cruise with the sea in perpetuity. then arrived on the fabulous island of Chrissi, wild nature and a feeling of paradise. The Libyan Sea has a breathtaking emerald green color, very clear and at least 24 ° C. A little advice: you can contact your guide from the app's chat to find out exactly what time and where exactly he picks you up / bring water shoes if you don't like walking on stones because when you arrive on the island, everything is in sand (10min walk to go to the most beautiful beach on the island) but when you arrive in the sea you have about 10 meters of rock before the sand. You can eat on the boat but these are only small snacks / sandwiches or industrial dishes. you can also rent a parasol on the boat (strong advice)!

Very nice island

Great tour. Well organized. Bus was on time, tour to Ierapetra was pleasant. Short wait for the ferry. Very crowded and seating difficult above. Island and golden beach great but also full. It's better at the edge, great water. Pick-up in front of the hotel didn't work, we had to walk back and forth about 1km to the meeting point, but that was the only downside.
