Travel from select locations on Crete by bus to the the town of Ierapetra and board a comfortable boat. Set sail towards the island of Chrissie and stop to swim and sunbathe at pristine beaches or take a stroll through cedar forests.

Choose from tour options that offer hotel pickup from many of Crete's towns. Hop aboard a spacious bus and relax on the ride to Ierapetra. Take in the stunning port as you board the boat and embark on your adventure to Chrissi Island.

Cruise to this uninhabited island around that is around 15 kilometers south of Ierapetra. This small island is only 7 kilometers in length and covers an area of 4,743 kilometers. Admire its golden sands and its rare variety of Lebanon cedars.

Anchoring on the south side of the island, head to the nearby beach for swimming and sunbathing. Walk a path that runs through the island and the cedar forest to the otherworldly beach of Chrissi Ammos.

Have the option to hunt for seashells, check out the rockier coast of the island, or make the trek to the island’s lighthouse. Swim in turquoise waters and soak up the sun in this magical and totally undisturbed place of natural beauty.

The island of Chrissi is really worth seeing. However, the tour guide speaks almost no German and starts running when we got off the bus without waiting for the rest to follow. The ferry is also only suitable for people who are sea savvy. People who get sick easily should not go on board as the boat is quite shaky

Perfect day: Personal pick-up by the tour guide Elena at the hotel and continuation by modern bus and other guests to Ierapetra, well informed by Elena (German, English, French). Arriving at the place there was still time to quickly buy bathing sandals, which one prefers to have on the stony rock layers on the island of Chrissi (good tip from Elena) or to enjoy a café with a direct view of the sea. Then on the ferry to the island, this year mooring is not allowed, the north side was too windy, so we drove to the southern part. There you could either disembark/jump with or without a life jacket and swim ashore. Great refreshment in the turquoise blue sea! The few meters are not to be underestimated, but a normal swimmer can do it. On the island you can only stay on the beach, do not go further in, forbidden for nature conservation reasons. Later, a direct, pleasant journey home as on arrival. Great, worthwhile trip! Thanks

Good experience overall. Rather long bus journey from Heraklion. Once in Ierapetra, we took a mini ferry type boat towards Chrissi. Small fray at the start because we were not allowed to go to the island but only to swim around the boat. Finally we had some free time to swim to the island. On board the boat there is something to eat.
