Full description
Your island adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in an SUV, then heads to the first stop of the day. Arrive in the quaint village of Krista, famous for is long history which dates back to the Ancient Greek and Ottoman eras. Visit the 12th century Church of Panagia Kera, which is one of the island’s most important religious monuments, boasting the finest-preserved Byzantine-era frescoes in Crete. Continue the tour through the Cypress Forest, looking out for sheep, goats, and vultures along the way, until you reach the Katharo Plateau. From the plateau soak up breathtaking views of the sprawling scenery and take photos of the Mirrabello Bay, which earned its name from the Venetian translation of ‘beautiful view’. Move south towards the Sarakina Gorge traveling through the Selakano Forest, which is famous for its production of exceptional honey. Cool off in the shade provided by the imposing gorge as you learn about this fascinating natural wonder and snap incredible photos for your holiday album. The final stop of the tour is the fishing village of Myrtos, which is the southernmost point in Europe.
