What people are saying about Crete
This experience was fun! The ambiance and people are welcoming Thank you Gregory Hakim and the other guy (sorry I don’t know his name!) for this great day in the mountains. About the horses they are kind and obediently I got Pamela Anderson (bc obvs I’m tall) no accident no problem! So don’t be afraid about the horses! All the animals got funny names by the way ! I let yall know by yourself Thank you to Gregory’s wife for the Greek dishes it was tasty but the meat ball was everything for me ! I recommended 100% They picked you to your hotel and drop you at the end of the activity to your hotel. About the rhythm you go slowly with the group but if you want to do some galop you can do it during the break ! ευχαριστώ (πολύ) means Efcharisto poly!
It was an excellent morning. Ideal for complete beginners, families and children. They show you how to ride and hold your horse throughout if you'd like. The pace of the ride is very slow and the route is safe. If you are a seasoned rider, just sit back and enjoy the scenery. It's more about seeing the countryside than the ride. At the end there is an opportunity to gallop briefly. Gregori and his family are the most welcoming and generous I have ever seen. The lunch is huge so come hungry. They can accommodate dietary requirements. Products are locally grown / sourced. Wine and spirits are included in the lunch. Gregori takes pictures during the ride which he prints on photo paper and you can purchase at the end.
Overall really enjoyed the experience and thought it was great value for the price! The beginning of the hike was a little hectic as two bus loads of people entered the trail at once (where it's very narrow and slippery), but after about 20 minutes of walking people started to spread out and walk at various paces. It took my group about 3.5 hours to complete the trail, we walked at a brisk pace and only stopped once for 15 minutes to eat our lunch. We really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and quiet (not as many visitors in October). Once we reached the end, we walked through the town to get to the beach and enjoyed a couple of hours there in the sun.
An interesting tour, for a reasonable price, especially if you like to spend a little time on a boat. Perhaps a little more information during the trip would be welcome, though as it was, the guide seemed to be enjoying himself which set the tone for a fun excursion. Snacks and drinks on board were also reasonably priced.
Boat transferring a large group (few dozens to hundreds of people) with public announcements in different languages, has a paid cafeteria and multiple decks. Beaches were fantastic. Did not feel short on time in either of the stopping points.
