Discover the fort-cum-palace of the Catholic kings on a guided tour of Cordoba’s Alcazar. Built on the remains of Moorish palace, the Alcazar has been witness to dozens of historical events of great importance. Follow in the footsteps of Christopher Columbus, who met Fernando and Isabel here in 1486. Learn about its time as the headquarters of the Spanish Inquisition. Stroll through remarkable rooms, such as the Salón de los Mosaicos (Hall of Mosaics). See the crenellated towers, and the Patio Morisco baths with their Moorish motifs. Climb the tower for panoramic views of the gardens. Then, take a stroll through the landscaped gardens to see features such as pools, fish ponds, fountains and orange trees.

The Alcazar is a must not to be missed. Really 5/5. For the visit, we are disappointed. A couple was late (30min). It was well specified that there could be no delay because everything is a timer... Despite these instructions, our guide wanted to wait, multiplying the phone calls and the round trips between the entrance and the meeting place. As a result, we and the two young women who were part of the group "missed" 1/2 hour of the visit... The visit that followed was carried out at a run... The content of the comments could be a little developed, it revolves a lot around the same subject. These places are steeped in history, it seemed to us that there was no shortage of subjects. We lost the children (13,18,22 years old) after 20 min: "it was always the same". The comments in statics did not come very well either, stayed 10 min in the same place given the size of the places These comments are not there to hurt but for the service to improve.

In Granada and Sevilla we toured by ourselves using audioguides, which was rather frustrating, particularly in the Cathedral in Sevilla. In Córdoba we opted for having a guide. Although I dislike group tours, our guide who was a historian and archeologist was excellent and we learned a lot.

The guide was fine but there were several guides talking at the same time at many points. We found that very unfortunate and disturbing. (Especially because your native language was not spoken) There are also too many people around / in front of that object or something. Timing could be better.
