Boasting turquoise waters, pristine white beaches, and spectacular tropical panoramas, Cozumel is the epitome of the Caribbean island. Beyond ranking amongst the world's top diving sites, the island offers plenty of great things to do—here are the highlights.
This majestic park combines the best of Cozumel—come to snorkel and dive, swim with dolphins, discover the island's rich flora, or enjoy one of the countless other activities.
The best food far and wide is found at the Municipal Market. The market also boasts great shopping opportunities and you will probably find yourself coming back again and again.
Love tequila? Then head over to La Hacienda Antigua! Here you can discover all there is to know about Mexico's favorite alcohol and sample its wide variety of tastes.
Mariachi are famous the world over. However, Mexican music has a long history that extends far beyond them. This museum will open your eyes to the country's rich musical heritage.
A beautiful site full of Mayan ruins and home to a large iguana population, San Gervasio offers the perfect combination of natural spectacle and historical discovery.
This magnificent beach with its impressive limestone formations offers some of the most stunning views on the entire island—the ideal spot to snap that perfect holiday picture!
The Discover Mexico Cozumel Park is the island's only theme park, where visitors are given fun and interactive tours through diverse aspects of Mexican history and culture.
The world-famous Palancar Reef is synonymous with Cozumel. An absolutely spectacular diving and snorkeling spot, Palancar Reef belongs on every visitor's itinerary.
Weather-wise, the best time to visit Cozumel is between the late autumn and early spring, when temperatures remain warm and dry. That said, this is also the peak season, so the island is at its most crowded. If you'd rather avoid the rush but still want to enjoy good weather, your best bet is late spring, before the start of the rainy season in June.
Scooters are a fun and highly popular way to get around the island. There are many rental places, with rates around $20-30 per day. However, make sure to exercise care as crashes are very frequent amongst tourists. Wearing a helmet is not only a good idea, but legally mandatory (police are on the look-out for riders without helmets and the fine is $25).
Saw tons! Groupers, moray eels, little finger eels that look like worms, parrotfish, angelfish, sergeant fish, other scuba divers, WWII ship, barrel sponges, corral of many different kinds ... didn’t get claustrophobic which I was concerned about ... the steepness of the ladder was not a concern for us and our kids but I did ask my 9 and 10 year old to look away when the girl ahead of us in a dress and her mother in very short shorts went up the ladder first ahead of us. My iPhone couldn’t take nearly as clear a pictures as what I could see with my eyes but After changing the tint and warmth and brightness and increasing contrast, the pictures became clearer. I originally tried to book with another website but the payment option was to wait til we got there to pay and I wanted to pay ahead of time. Get Your Guide had easy payment through PayPal which I trust as a form of payment which is why I booked through Get Your Guide and not the other website. Easy app and offline tickets.
We really enjoyed the snorkeling! Much better than a previous experience! It was great to leisurely swim around at our own pace. And the reef was fabulous! I was a little disappointed in the lunch. There was no buffet, as advertised. But the food was decent and we lucky enough to have very few people in the park.
Gerry or Geraldo was our guide and he was the BEST. We are so glad we did this. We got to eat and learn about so many foods that we would have never tried otherwise. It was so much fun. Honestly the best experience we have had on the island, in addition to scuba diving of course. Worth every penny.
Fue una experiencia maravillosa, dentro de lo más me gusto la puntualidad, el conocimiento de la guía sobre todo el tour, los lugares visitados fueron fantásticos, el tour el jeep espectacular, Recomendadísimo.
We had good experience to dive in beautiful water in Chankanaab beach. Many kinds of sea creature include big lobster and a stature could find under the water!
