In this tour, you will get a detailed introduction to the 1500 year old history of the city of Derry/Londonderry, while walking a route on and around the City's 405 year old Walls. The times of 120 minutes clockwise for a Private Tour and 90 minutes anti-clockwise for a Public Tour are approximate and they may vary due to the size of the group, the number of questions and the walking speed of its participants, and also weather conditions or other changes to the route outside of the guide's control. Also available are HALF Day and FULL Day Tour Experiences which combine the Tour of the City Walls with additional tours of the Street Arts and Murals of the Cityside and/or the Waterside and/or Other Specialist History tours as preferred by the guest - please specify in advance. You will hear about St Columba who established his monastery here in 542 AD, the Vikings, Normans who came, and also the English/Scottish planters who then made their home here from the 1600's. You will also hear about the Great Siege of Derry of 1688/89, emigrations in the 1700's and 1800's, the Shirt Factories, the city's role in two World Wars, the "Troubles" of the period 1969-94, and the subsequent Peace Process and the recent TV Series the Derry Girls. The focus is on a personalised approach and tour route and content can be customised for PRIVATE group bookings of up to 30 guests.

The tour Guide was absolutely brilliant... What a great experience for both me and my daughter Issy both the Derry girls and some very funny tails about them and also great history lesson about the walls and Derry... A must for anyone who is interested in both... We'll worth the cost and yes I would do it again 👌👌
