Full description
Glide with the breeze over the Natural Park of La Garrotxa, located between the Pyrenees and Costa Brava, and discover from the sky how the volcanoes of Catalonia are a paradise for nature lovers. The half-day tour lasts approximately 5 hours, with about 1.5 hours flying time, and baskets for those with reduced mobility are available, including 3-door baskets that are suitable for the elderly. See how the landscape was shaped by volcanic activity in a way that is simply not possible from the ground. You will cruise over charming valleys, thick oak forests, and tiny villages settled on the top of towering cliffs. Experience the silence that only a hot air balloon ride can offer, with 360-degree views all around you. Sip a glass of Cava and enjoy a local pancake as the breeze and your pilot navigate the route, subject to the whims of Mother Nature! The balloon is constantly monitored by a 4WD car that will be ready to pick you up on landing. Then, it’s back to the launch facilities, where you will celebrate your balloon experience with a typical country breakfast of pa amb tomàquet (bread and tomato), cold cured sausage and beans from Santa Pau, roasted sausage, Catalan wine, and a glass of the local ratafia liquor.

    Incredible experience

I am afraid of heights and our pilot Pepe made me feel extremely safe. The base is absolutely stunning, and allowed us to get comfortable before the flight. As we got in the air he explained all of the sites and points we were looking at, and had an extremely smooth landing 1.5h later. It did get extremely hot so I recommend wearing light clothes, as well as bringing your own water bottle up. We landed and had a short drive back to base where we were prepared a lovely breakfast with many options - I am gluten free and was able to eat a lot - and overall would recommend this 100% to all.

Fantastic experience! We got to the meeting point at 7 a.m. and were offered a small cake with coffee before our flight while watching our balloon getting inflated, which was an incredible experience itself. Our flight was about 1 hour and 50 mins. Surprisingly calm and peaceful experience. Went up high and down the valley. The view of the sea and the snowed Pyrenees was breathtaking. During our flight we had a few glasses of Cava and a traditional cake. A nice lunch was also served after our flight. Our guide was very informative, funny and we felt incredibly safe (considering that you are in a floating basket!).Highly recommended!

One of the best "experiences" ever. Exceeded our expectations.

I cannot praise the organisation, communication, the guides, the food or the views highly enough. It was simply excellent at every turn. The pilot and host was amazing, nothing was too much trouble and he went out of his way to arrange things for our convenience and comfort. For example he put the English guests together nearest him in the balloon so that he could talk quietly (in perfect English honed in Brighton I believe!) to us after he had spoken to the Spanish guests. He was funny and confidence inspiring. The flight was amazing, right over the volcanoes and, as an added bonus, over the accommodation we had stayed in the night before. The take off and landing were gentle -he said it was the weather but don't underestimate his skill too. The peace when the burners were off and the floating sensation in silence will be remembered for a long time to come.
