The Vatican is very large with so much to see so I wanted to make sure my husband and I saw the best parts. The combination of the Basilica tour and Dome climb with the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel allowed us to visit everything. The dome climb has narrow passages and 300+ stairs but you are rewarded with incredible views inside and out. The interior of the Basilica is awe-inspiring. It is overwhelming grand but our guide Marianne made sure we saw the important areas and explained everything we needed to know. After a short break, we went to the Vatican Museum. It is about a 15 min walk from the Basilica. The Vatican Museum is huge!! Again, Marianne guided us to the best pieces of art, gave us the inside stories and prepared us for the Sistine Chapel. There is no talking allowed in the Chapel but with her prep, I could really appreciate the experience. Great tour for those looking for a full, active experience.

Our whenInRomeTour guide was Sandra. She did a fantastic job of taking us thru St. Peter's Basilica, the Basilica dome, papal crypts and Vatican museum. She knows her stuff and explains it very very well. She answered all our questions about Roman history as well. We are really glad that we took this tour. It is exactly what you need if you're visiting Vatican City for the first time. Full 5 star rating.

We had a wonderful guide, so knowledgeable and wanted to share so much with our group. The dome climb was the best part in the morning, with few people outside your group and lots of room to move around. Be advised, the Vatican Museums pack people in and you’ll have only a few areas where you can stand and look at the items, the rest you’ll be moving with the crowd. So glad we went on this tour!
