What to Expect
Explore the rich world of fishing (and maybe get hooked for life) on a full-day fishing adventure in the Søllerød Fiskepark recreation pond close to Copenhagen.
A fishing guide will teach you how to cast with a spoon or spinner, before showing you overhand casting and spey casting with a fly. You’ll then have plenty of time to put into practice what you’ve learnt before your guide moves on to how to tie an efficient fly, the different patterns and sizes of fly available, and when you should use each one.
You will also learn about sustainable fishing methods, and why it is important to try to preserve fish stocks and protect them from over exploitation. After that you are on the loose - practicing what you have learned!
Learn to prepare "gravad" salmon, a Scandinavian delicacy that your guide will demonstrate step-by-step, from cleaning the fish, to filleting, preparing and carving.
Lunch will be prepared at the lake and cooked in a small oven where any fish that you’ve caught can be smoked. This will be served with a fresh salad and bread, and washed down with a beer. End with a special "snaps" (a strong liquor made from herbs) that your guide will show you how to make yourself so you can recreate back home.
