Full description
Venture beyond the mainstream attractions of Copenhagen and discover an alternative side to the city.

The 3-hour tour is a story of 2 distinct neighborhoods. The first is known for its green light district, the other for its red light district. Each has a fascinating history, bound together by vibrant diversity and an uncompromising counter culture. Despite international fame, both retain an edge that will give you a sense of freedom, creativity and a grittiness you won’t find in Copenhagen's downtown core.

Discover how the city's historic working class district evolved into a thriving community of young artists and entrepreneurs. Learn how the Danish welfare system has both succeeded and failed to take care of the sex workers and drug addicts that lined the streets. Hear how hippies took over a military base in the '70s. Walk down the infamous "Pusher Street" of the green light district, just around the corner from some of the city’s most expensive real estate.

Beyond the hipsters and gelato stands, there's an amazing tale to be told. Hear about Copenhagen’s underground scene and the people who made (and continue to make) it great. This is more than just a story of the hip and the down-and-outs: this is a tale of people questioning the social, political and cultural status quo.

End the tour near the self-declared "Free State of Christiania," located just south of the central train station and the über-hip Vesterbro district. You'll be given all the key information so that if you decide, you can explore it (not included).
