Connemara & Cong: Full-Day Tour from Galway
- Pickup available
- Duration: 8 hours
This full-day excursion to Connemara and Cong takes you to see the hidden Ireland that’s off the main tourist route. This is a magical day spent in typical Irish countryside. See the region come to life with stories from the past and its many legends - from killer sheep to lake monsters! The first stop is at Ross Errily Friary. This hidden 14th-century monastery is located just outside the village of Cong. You’ll have time to explore Cong Woods and see Ashford Castle, or just stroll through the town that was the setting for the 1950s classic film “The Quiet Man”. As you enter Connemara, you’ll see Lough Nafooey, known as Ireland’s most haunted lake. You’ll note the stark beauty of Connemara as you continue on your route, arriving at Killary Fjord in Leenane. Those staying in hostels can opt to hop off at Sleepzone Connemara - just let the tour operator know in advance! Head back inlan...

Beautiful place and a must go to location. There were a bunch of stops on the way which were amazing. We had enough time to explore around as well as go to the well known spots. A day well spent. Highly recommend. The tour guide gave so many details and explained in depth about everything we were seeing and the history of Ireland. Superb.
Mike was the Best bus driver and made the Whole Trip Perfect! Everything was so calm and relaxed this is Not like a typical busy daytrip. Only the Time at the kylemore abbey could be a little Bit longer. All in all a Must visit from galway!!!
A really enjoyable day with a great driver, who was knowledgeable, relaxed and very helpful. The stops were fantastic and we could not have asked for more. Well worth doing this tour if you are in the Galway region. Thanks for a great day
