Phenomenal display. I’m not old enough to remember the Space Race but I do remember the shuttle program from 1981 and on. It was the grand opening of the new Gateway exhibit and it was awesome. Also, you must do the launch experience in the Atlantis exhibit. We didn’t get to do everything we wanted because we didn’t get there until almost 11 and they closed at 5. My only complaint is the pictures. They take your picture like most places do. They looked good. HOWEVER: the digital download is BAD. First, you only get low resolution photos. NO High res. Very Poor. Then, you can only download one picture at a time. Click on the download, right click, save image, save in your favorite spot, return to gallery. Wash, rinse, repeat.

There was a long line to clear security and present your tickets (approximately 40 minutes). We arrived at 9:15 AM gates open at 8:30. So get there early if you plan to spend the day. Remember to pick up your guide pamphlets after presenting your tickets. We did the free garden of Rocket tour first then went to the free bus tour out to the Rocket building area . Then timed out IMAX theater visit. There is a s a lot to see, but hitting the presentations and show times was our keys. There were a lot of children as school was out. But they caused no problems getting around. It is a lot of walking so if that is difficult for you, be aware of areas you can usually sit. There is a wifi cafe as you enter the park and we got connected and surprisingly we had wifi most of the time. If you can book the tours which are additional on the ticket prices as the information and closeness to items are better than wandering around.

A wonderful experience, topped off by a rocket launch and booster returning from space. It just doesn’t get any better than that! These people really know how to move a lot of people efficiently and demonstrate great courtesy for each guest. Everyone was a master of outstanding customer service. But be sure to bring your sunscreen!
