Barcelona: Sagrada Familia and Park Güell with Hotel Pickup

10. Barcelona: Sagrada Familia and Park Güell with Hotel Pickup

Enjoy pickup from your hotel, and a comfortable ride, where your expert guide will share fascinating stories about the city’s one-of-a-kind architecture, culture, and history.  The tour will begin next to the Mediterranean Sea, home to the golden sand beach of Bogatell, before following the coastline towards Port Vell (the Old Port). There your guide will show you the Gothic Drassanes and the iconic Columbus Monument located at Barcelona's most famous street, La Rambla.  From there, the guide will take you up Montjuïc Mountain to Mirador de l'Alcalde, a beautiful terrace with wonderful views of Barcelona’s iconic skyline. The Mountain of Montjuïc was once the main venue of the 1992 Olympics. Nowadays, you can still admire the Olympic Stadium. You can also find plenty of examples of urbanism and architecture designed for the International Exhibition of 1929. These include Plaça Espanya, The Magic Fountain, the Mies Van der Rohe Pavilion, and The National Palace. The tour will continue down the mountain to the Old Town. There you will leave the vehicle for a while as the narrow streets of the charming Gothic Quarter must be explored on foot. Your guide will take you to the hidden corners of this neighborhood while unveiling the Roman and Medieval history of its streets. After discovering the Old Town your guide will take you to the neighborhood that was made to expand the city beyond its walls, l’Eixample. This district was designed in the 19th-century by the urban planner Ildefons Cerdà. Its grid pattern and wide avenues offer a stark contrast to the more chaotic Old Town.  The visit of l'Eixample will start at Plaça Catalunya, Barcelona’s central plaza. The square connects to the boulevard Passeig de Grácia, which features some of the best examples of Modernist architecture. Take a moment to admire the striking façades of private Modernist buildings including Gaudí's famous La Pedrera and Gaudí’s Casa Batlló and the Casa Lleó Morera and Casa Ametller. Your guide will take you to the crown jewel of Barcelona, Gaudí's masterpiece of La Sagrada Familia. After an extensive explanation of the hidden religious symbolism in the façades of La Sagrada Familia, enter the building. You are sure to be captivated by Gaudi’s incredible architectural style, the peculiar shape of the columns, ceilings, and walls, and the organic architecture of the basilica.  Finally, your guide will take you all the way to Park Güell. This magical park is located on the top of a hill that provides spectacular views of Barcelona. In the park’s famous gardens, Gaudí combined his unique architectural style with elements of nature. The result is a place of pure fantasy guaranteed to amaze you.

Our guide was Pau. This was our second time on Segways so we needed to remind ourselves how to ride it. Pau asked us which route we wanted to take since we already did some tours. We saw Barcelonetta, Port Vell, Olympic village, beautiful sight of Barcelona and many more significant buildings. Pau is a real and proud Catalanyan and it was amazing to see such a spark when he was talking about history. Overall, this was amazing experience. Only one thing we didn't like: almost 3 hours in, my partners Segway died so we needed to figure out how to deal with it. Pau rentex a bike for my partner and he was pushing dead segway with him to the HQ. He told the guys working there what happened and that we will be half an hour late coming back since that was how long it took to come back. We went back to sightseeing and same thing happened with New Segway towards the end of the tour. When we were going back, HQ guys called Pau asking him why was he late and that we are over time. I find that bad.

Our guide was Martina and she was really nice and knowledgable. She showed us few of Gaudi houses, walked us through Barcelona and then brough us to helipad. Helicopter ride is absolutely amazing experience and it is really not a problem even if you're afraid of hights. Martin was there to send us all of. Boat trip was done on our own and you can use it next day. Absolultely recommend this!

Guide Lunis was charming and charismatic. He provided a well prepared diet of information about the city and showed the places where to eat. Couldn´t have asked for more. Segway riding was way easier than expected.

Great way to get a feel for the whole city. Busses came often which was good because sometimes they were too full and we couldn’t get in the first one.

My special compliment to tour guide Mateus for his excellence services. We had enjoyed with great satisfaction. Muchas Gracias! Tony Foo Singapore
