Loved the trip. Beautiful area not to be missed. Our guide Ado was great. Did the stairs but not the hike as it was too hot and humid. Try the pan fritti in Monteresso. I will go back just for this. It is tiring though. Must have good shoes and Right gear. Issues: bathrooms almost non-existing. And yes, they charge you 1€ for the service!! And no water fountains anywhere. Buy water bottles on the bus before you start the hike. Skip the boat ride if you have motion sickness.

Simple and easy to navigate. We didn’t have the audio guide but just listened to one we found on the App Store. Quite a large area to explore so give yourself ample time. The park closed at 7pm and we entered at about 4:40pm, the ruins I would say where the highlight of this tour. I wish we could have stayed longer so bear in mind if you enter this late you have to be somewhat fast to see it all, It was much quieter in the afternoon which was good, it felt more relaxed and not like a major tourist attraction. Something you defiantly wouldn’t want to miss whilst in Rome, even if you don’t know much about the history of the place.

Entry to the Colosseum is timed, and there is a set path you have to follow. I was more interested in the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill and ended up without sufficient time with a 2:15 entry. If I had to do it again, I would have moved more quickly thru the Colosseum.
