Booked an afternoon safari 14.00-18.00. Gimhana was our guide and communicated all the information we needed prior to arrival. He arrived in a high quality Jeep, which we had to ourselves, making it a personalised experience. Gimhana went above and beyond to make sure we saw as many animals as possible, taking different routes and stopping at the right locations so we maximised our time and experience. We saw a variety of different elephants close up throughout the park as well as buffalo, crocodiles, monkeys and peacocks. Gimhana was knowledgable about all the animals and stopped in each location for as long as we needed. Highly recommend this safari when visiting Sri Lanka!
Our driver was willing to pick us up from the Cruise ship port gate. We left early 4:30am knowing it would be about 3.5 hour drive each way. We changed the tour to fit what we wanted to visit because off time restraints. We also paid for a guide on Sigiriya. Well worth having a knowledgeable guide. We would rebook this tour again.
Gimhana gave us an unforgettable experience. He explained a lot to us about the different animals and was always in contact with us. I particularly liked the fact that we drove on more remote roads and didn't come across other jeeps that often.
The 8 day tour was amazing. We saw some incredible things and learnt so much about the history of Sri Lanka. The tour was made even better by our driver/tour guide Pradeep Fernando who was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly throughout.
We really enjoyed the safari. Our guide was really kind, he showed a lot of birds, crocodiles and of course elephants. He always waited patient until we said we can go to the next localisation. I can highly recommend this tour.
