Colombo: Guided City Tour

I spent a wonderful day in and around Columbo with Tharaka. The whole tour went smoothly, from the moment I met him at the airport (6am!) until he dropped me back in plenty of time for my flight. And what a tour it was! We took in a mix of religious sites, landmarks of historical significance and a couple of ‘proper’ places to eat and drink with locals. However, my favourite part was simply driving and walking around the city. Colombo is a place full of energy and (good) chaos! A word on my guide, the brilliant Tharaka. It was a joy to spend the day with him, learning about the unique history and culture of Sri Lanka. He has deep knowledge and many anecdotes which made the tour extremely engaging. Tharaka really brought the trip to life and it felt more like hanging out with a local, rather than being on a planned tour. In short, if you want to maximise your time visiting Colombo, I can’t recommend this tour enough. It was definitely the highlight of my trip. Thank you Tharaka!

Denver was an excellent guide. Very knowledgable, flexible and friendly. Although we were late meeting him due to delays at our end, he was happy to wait for us and was able to offer a great tour of the city. We had bad weather that day l, but Denver helped us overcome this with his flexible approach. Would highly recommend Denver to anyone visiting Colombo. 5 stars
