We had an italian guide (who spoke English of course), his name was Andrea, I believe. the tour was very interesting and he gave us a lot of historical background which was always easy to understand. Andrea must be a qualified professional, we could clearly see that he knew much more than what he told us. This is not always the case in city tours! totally recommended.
