The Cologne scavenger hunt will take you past the most beautiful sights of the Rhine metropolis. Start your adventure at the main station and then head to the Cathedral, which is Cologne's landmark. Also, discover the Heinzelmännchen fountain, the old market with the town hall, the Heumarkt, the Great St. Martin church, the Rhine promenade, and much more. Your city game box contains 16 sealed and numbered envelopes, each holding riddles that need to be solved. Follow clear and precise directions and find your way to the various sights. Once you solve a riddle you will be given a number, which reveals which envelope to open next. You won’t know ahead of time in which succession the Scavenger Hunt City Game envelopes need to be opened. The tour's meeting point is at the Domtreppen, the cathedral stairs located in front of Cologne Central Station. From there, we'll head to the Heinzelmännchenbrunnen fountain, so named after some curious gnomes connected to the city of Cologne... mysterious, huh? Following our route, we'll see more of the city's most iconic monuments, like the Rathaus or City Hall, the Rheingarten, a park beside the River Rhine, and the Fischmarkt or Fish Market Square. Wandering onwards, we'll reach Dufthaus 4711. Did you know that this shop is one of Cologne's most famous perfumeries? We'll then make a stop in front of the EL-DE Haus, former headquarters of the Gestapo. At the indicated time we will meet at the Cologne Central Station, where we will take a train to Düsseldorf. In just 45 minutes we will reach our destination! Once there, we will go to Königsallee, where we will see the most pompous boulevard in the metropolis. Luxury shops and an extensive canal await us! We will continue the visit on the banks of the Rhine to see three of the most relevant points: Marktplatz, the Town Hall building and the Haus des Karnevals. Regarding the latter, we will reveal a detail related to the Düsseldorf Carnival. On the way to the old town or Altstadt, we will see Burgplatz and Ratinger Straße, one of the busiest points of the city. We will also see the church of Sankt Lambertus. Did you know that its façade and leaning tower have become an emblem of Düsseldorf? Finally, we will walk through the Hofgarten, the green lung of the German city and one of the favorite places of locals. In addition, we will admire the majestic building of the Düsseldorf Opera House and the K20 Museum, which houses works by Picasso. After this guided tour of Düsseldorf, you will have an hour and a half of free time to continue exploring the city. Finally, we will return to the Central Station to take the return train. At the indicated time we will meet at the Cologne Central Station and take a train that will take us to the westernmost city in Germany: Aachen. After an hour of travel, we will leave the station and begin a guided tour of the historic center of Aachen. First, we will cross one of the entrances to the medieval wall, Marschiertor, which dates back to the 13th century. As we walk through the streets of the old town, we will delight in the aroma of the pastry shops dedicated to the famous Printen cookies. They have become an emblem! Finally, we will reach the Aachen Cathedral and its Treasury, a colossal monumental complex with origins dating back to the 8th century. You will be amazed! And do you want to know the relationship of this temple with the former king of the Franks? We will learn all about its history at the next stop: the Charlemagne Center. Next, we will contemplate the building par excellence of Carolingian architecture, the famous Aachen Town Hall, and we will pass by the bourgeois house converted into the Couven Museum and the picturesque doll fountain, the most famous in the German city. We will end this tour in the most important tourist center in 18th century Europe: the Elisenbrunnen building. After that, you will have an hour and a half of free time to continue exploring Aachen on your own. Finally, we will meet the guide again to take the train back to Cologne.
