From Budapest: Danube Bend Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch

1. From Budapest: Danube Bend Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch

This 8-hour private tour departs from Budapest by air-conditioned minibus to explore 3 pearls of the Danube Bend. One of the most famous rivers in the world, the River Danube flows for 1,785 miles through the European continent, passing some of its most majestic cities. In Hungary, a curve in the river near the city of Visegrád has been given the name the Danube Bend. Flanked by the Transdanubian Mountains on one side and the North Hungarian Mountains on the other, it is a spectacular region rich in forests and limestone caves and home to an abundant viticulture On this tour you will explore 3 historic places of the Danube Bend with your personal guide. Drive to the handsome city of Esztergom, former capital of Hungary from the 10th to the 13th-Century and situated on the border with Slovakia. Its cathedral, the Esztergom Basilica, is the largest church in Hungary. Continue to Visegrád, a small castle town on the right bank of the Danube. Here you will explore the remains of the Royal Palace and visit the citadel of Visegrád Castle. Take some souvenir photos of the Danube Bend from the castle’s fantastic elevated vantage point. You will enjoy a 3-course lunch in a local restaurant at Visegrád before continuing to the medieval town of Szentendre. Well known for its art scene, you will stroll through the charming streets, lined with contemporary art galleries, craft shops and boutique stores. From May through the end of September, you can return to Budapest from Szentendre on a boat cruise along the Danube if required. The boat leaves Szentendre at 17:00. There is no boat on Monday. The boat cruise is optional, so you can decide it on the spot, whether to return by boat or by car with your tour guide.

What people are saying about Citadella

The ship looks very classy, the food is quite good if not exciting, the service is overwhelmed, the longer the evening takes, however, very hard and mostly very friendly. The big advantage is that you don't have to rely on the service, you can get something yourself at the bar! Long drinks, wine, beer all free and of perfect quality. With gin there is for example beefeater ... The raffle for little things was made charming and caused a lot of laughter. Sometime after 2 a.m. we were driven home included, others danced further down in the ship. It was a thoroughly successful New Year's Eve! The 180 euros pp are well spent for New Year's Eve in Budapest.

Elegant dinner and suggestive panorama. Nice entertainments.

An elegant evening and an illuminated and fairytale city seen from the Danube. Gourmet and non-Italian wines, but the atmosphere and organization is also worth an encore. Suitable for couples, groups of friends and even families with young children. At Pier n ° 3 there are more boats, I advise you to arrive a little early and ask first for the name of the boat.

Highly recommend!!

What a lovely host! Gabor ensured that we enjoyed the beautiful drive as well as his company. We had a good time seeing the places and listening to the tour guide share his knowledge about everything we saw and every place we visited. We were three ladies and we found the service safe and professional. One of the best ideas for a day trip from Budapest!

Excellent réveillon !
