My mom and I loved this pesto making class! We learned about the ingredients and the history or pesto in the region as well as the technique for making pesto with a mortar and pestle. The result was delicious — we got to enjoy our pesto with fantastic focaccia and a refreshing white wine. We also got to meet two groups of friends traveling from Israel and Malta. Plus, it was a welcome way to get out of the summer heat for an hour or so :)

The pesto class was a very cool experience. Yvonne is a local and was very knowledgeable about the history of pesto and Cinque Terre. She has a restaurant upstairs that we went to for dinner after that had amazing Foccacia, highly recommend but make a reservation!

Wow! This is an awesome activity for people of all age levels. The host walks you through the history of pesto and teaches you to make her family recipe passed down from her grandmother. At the end, you get to try your pesto with homemade focaccia and a glass of wine. We were so impressed that we went back to dinner in her restaurant upstairs later that night.
