Full description

Once you arrive at the port of La Spezia, meet your tour guide at the cruise terminal. Take a 20-minute walk to arrive at the train station from where you will begin your adventure. On the walk, you will discover the beautiful city center of La Spezia. Trains are undoubtedly the ideal means of transportation to explore the area, in just 15 minutes, passing through the sheer heights of the Ligurian Sea, you will reach Vernazza, one of the most colorful villages in the area.

Here you can enjoy some free time in this picturesque village, characterized by pastel-colored houses with beautiful views of crystal clear waters. The second stop will be Monterosso, the largest of the Cinque Terre villages, which also owns a stunning beach characterized by fine white sand and a clear and transparent sea. Here you will have a surprise reserved for you, a stop to taste the delicious Limoncino in a traditional shop.

This exquisite liqueur is ideal to toast for the wonderful day that you are spending, immersed in the nature, colors, and flavors of this fascinating and unique land. After having some free time in Monterosso, take the train to Riomaggiore, the last stop before coming back to La Spezia.

This small village, like the other four, offers breathtaking views of the coast, as well as glimpses of the daily lives of the fishermen with their traditional boats that you will see tied to the port. Also, if you are staying at La Spezia, choose the best starting point for you: the cruise port or the train station.

Day trip was great. Our guide was super nice. The limoncello tasting is nothing to write home about as we packed into a little store and had a tablespoon dixie cup tasting and 30 seconds later we walked out. A better description from the shop owner about the process of making it and the taste and how Italians drink it would have been cool. The day does go by fast which is necessary given the transport from one city to another.

Our guide was great, made sure we stayed together, walked at a steady pace..it is a 15-20min walk from the port to train station, thru cobblestone streets. Trains were not that crowded, we got a seat every time. Visited 3 out of the 5 towns, which was perfect. My kids loved it, 10yr and 5yr old boys, they're troopers and were excited to visit the town of Luca movie:) The lemoncello! That was a nice treat to end the day. She left us at the last town Monterosso, got in the water, it was great. You do have to walk back on your own from the train station to the port...we just took a taxi.

Overall the tour was good. However, we had to miss 2 of the villages just because we were provided more time at Monterosso for lunch etc. One of friends took a hop-on-hop- off boat tour. She was able to visit all the villages and it was 2/3 the cost of what I paid for this trip. This was good as Lisa provide some instructions as how best to see the attractions. I also thought we were going to get Visitors Card for the price we paid, but we did not get that.
