I had a wonderful bucket list hike in the Cinque Terre. Sabrina our guide was absolutely lovely and very knowof the area. She collected us smoothly from the cruise ship terminal. Our day was extremely hot so she slightly adapted the itinerary for the conditions. Please only undertake this hike if you are a fit, regular hiker with good condition. I hike weekly to 10km and it was tough. We had some in our group that should never had signed up and ended up being turned around. They were not fit enough. Our hike, plus walking to and from the train would had been 8kms at least, much of it up very steep and unstable hills. I loved it!

We had an amazing day hiking in the Cinque Terre with a very kind and knowledgeable guide! The views from the trail were amazing and we enjoyed a couple of stops along the way for treats and lunch. Keep in mind this is a lot of walking and parts of the trail are very steep - the views are worth it but you should be in good physical condition and wearing good shoes! We weren’t able to get to all of the villages because we were with a larger group but the slower pace worked out for our family which included kids 11 and 18. Our guide kept everything fun and was simply amazing!

Full description

After you meet the tour guide at the port, start your adventure with a walk to the train station. Admire the beautiful and colorful city center of La Spezia during the journey and breathe in the scent of the breeze that characterizes this unique port city.

Once you arrive at the station, board the first train that will take you to the small town of Manarola from where you will begin your intrepid hiking experience. Get ready and explore the ancient trails of this mountain passing through the vineyards perched on the rock. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the colorful houses built on the cliffs, it will seem that you’re admiring a work of art.

When you reach the top of the mountain and begin the descent towards Corniglia, appreciate the charm of this little village that is more than 100 meters high at sea level. Discover the center of Corniglia as you walk through its narrow alleys and take a break to continue the adventure. After lunch, o to the train station to head towards your next destination, Vernazza. This village is a beautifully preserved coastal town and the perfect place to relax while you admire the wonderful landscape.

Finally, go to Riomaggiore where you will have some free time to walk through its narrow streets and enjoy beautiful hidden spots. Admire the particular construction of Riomaggiore and the Gulf of Cinque Terre from the panoramic terrace here. At the end of the day, return to La Spezia where you incredible adventure ends.
