Full description

Take a unique sightseeing tour of the inner city aboard an antique trams as the driver provides a live and entertaining commentary. A full circuit takes 50 minutes and includes 18 stops, where you can hop on and off as often as you wish. Visit Riverside Market, Christchurch Botanic Gardens, Cathedral Junction, Canterbury Museum, and much more. • Please note our attractions do get very busy over the summer months (Nov-March) especially if a cruise ship is in port and there may be a wait time for entry due to increased demand

The tram loop starts at Cathedral Junction. However, you can also board the tram at any of the 18 stops along the city route by presenting your reference number.

  • Trams run every 15 minutes from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Summer, October-March, and from 9:50 AM to 4:00 PM in winter, April-September
  • Children up to the age of 15 are free of charge and each paying adult can take up to 3 children.
  • Please note our attractions do get very busy over the summer months (Nov-March) especially if a cruise ship is in port and there may be a wait time at the Tram entry due to increased demand

Great way to travel around Christchurch. Very busy when coming from the cruise ships. Feel as though if you had pre purchased tickets it should have been a different line to those buying at the stop. Wait times were very long.
