Experience the world famous TranzAlpine train journey on a guided day tour from Christchurch.
After pick-up from your Christchurch hotel, travel by road to Springfield. Board the TranzAlpine train to travel through the Southern Alps to Arthur’s Pass - admire the stunning alpine scenery through the train's panoramic windows.
From Arthur’s Pass, tour over the snow-capped Southern Alps in the Arthur’s Pass National Park into the Otira Gorge, pausing for photo stops along the way. Visit the old village of Otira before returning to Arthur’s Pass for lunch. After lunch, explore the picturesque village of Arthur’s Pass and some of the many local walks.
On the return drive to Christchurch, visit a High Country Sheep Farm for afternoon tea, followed by a sheep shearing and sheep mustering demonstration. The tour concludes with your return to your Christchurch accommodation around 5:30 PM.
