Island Tour in Amorgos

Get ready for the ultimate roadtrip filled with exciting sightseeing adventures! Departure takes place from Vigla Hotel around 09:30 and we head towards the remarkable Byzantine Monastery perched dramatically on a cliffside, The Hozoviotssa Monastery. The welcome of the monks is a testament to the enduring spirit of hospitality: traditional raki and loukoumi (a Greek delight made from starch and sugar). Next stop is Agios Georgios Valsamitis, a picturesque church dedicated to Agios Georgios (St. George). The most intriguing aspects of the church is its association with a natural spring that flows within the cave. Upon moving at the southern part, we visit the Holy Trinity Tower (Agia Triada) in Arkesini village. Constructed from local stone, explore this ancient watchtower that provides us a glimpse into the island's rich history. On our way back, we will stop at a beach to enjoy swimming in the Big Blue, depending on the weather. Our final stop is in the capital of Amorgos, Chora. Stroll through the alleys and admire the Cycladic architecture: whitewashed houses and blue domed churches. A must-visit place with traditional windmills and Venetian Castle that showcases the island's unique charm. We end our day by dining in one of the Chora's traditional taverns, enjoying a delicious meal before heading back to Vigla Hotel.
