Your guide will meet your at the airport in Chongqing, or your hotel in Chongqing’s city center. You will then go to Ciqikou Village, located fourteen kilometers to the west of Chongqing Municipality, also known as "porcelain village". The village was recognized as a protected cultural site by the state council in 1998. There are many shops lining the twelve flag stoned paved lanes forming the main routes. Tourists will find many outlets for craftwork, groceries, teashops and the like, as well as a horologist, photography supplies, drugstore and a tempting supply of roasted nuts and seeds which are popular in the region. After your visit to Ciqikou, you'll enjoy a local restaurant to experience a hot pot dinner, the traditional food from this region. In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel at 08:00 and taken to the Wulong Furong Cave near Jiangkou (2.5-hours driving). Furong Cave, located along the bank of Furong River between the town of Haokou and Jiangkou. Wulong county was discovered in May 1993 and it is popular among visitors for its limestone cave. It is also an artistic underground palace, a scientific cavern museum and the only nominated site for World Natural Heritage in China so far. The main limestone is unexpectedly as long as 2,700 meters. Then, take 30 minutes to head to Xiannüshan tourist center to catch a special tourist bus to the Natural Stone Bridges Scenic Area. The site, as the name suggests, has three huge natural stone bridges over two karst dolines. The three grand arch bridges are named Tianlong, Qinglong and Heilong, respectively. Today, you will go to Dazu County for a whole day of sightseeing (your guide will meet you at 08:30 in your hotel lobby). This is the birthplace of the amazing Dazu rock carvings, which were created from the late Tang dynasty (618~907) to the early Song dynasty (960~1127). With the theme of Buddhism, the Dazu cliffside carvings are distributed in Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Shimenshan and Shizhuanshan. You will spend the day visiting the Baodingshan carvings located about 527 meters above sea level. It consists mainly of the Dafowan rock carvings area and the Xiaofowan rock carvings area. There are about 10,000 statues of Buddha carved on the 500 meter cliff in the U-shaped Dafowan. It is said to be a long narrative mural with plenty of commentary but no repeated content. When the tour ends, you will drive you back to your Chongqing hotel.
