After being picked up from your hotel in Xiamen by our tour guide, travel by private air-conditioned car to the Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster. It will takes about 2-hour to reach Nanjing county. Tulou is one kind of unique communal homes of the Hakka people that mainly live in the rolling mountainous regions of Fujian and Guangdong in China. Its history can date back to as early as the 11th century, which is more than 1,000 years ago.
Upon arrival, explore the UNESCO listed Tianluokeng village first. Stroll around different complex of the ancient Tulou houses, admire spectacular ancient Hakka house architecture which are large, enclosed, and fortified earth buildings. Marvel at its genius design. Accompanied by your tour guide to learn about the history of the Hakka people and their traditional way of life. Explore the interiors of the Tulou houses and see how the Hakka people have lived for centuries.
Go up to the highest viewpoint of the village and appreciate a stunning bird eye view of the five Tulou cluster among the beautiful hill terrace. Get to know the “Fengshui” design of the complex with five important Chinese elements from the ancient times.

In the afternoon, you will explore Yuchang Tulou, which is one of the oldest Tulou in Fujian. Built in the 13th century of Ming Dynasty, it has been leaning at its 15 degree for over 700 years and got its fame as the “China No.1 Tower “. Spend some time and explore this wonderful old residence once used to be the residences of five different families from Liu, Luo Zhang, Tang, Fan. Admire its unique round-shaped design!
