What to Expect
Join our 2-hour walking tour to experience the highlights of Chicago’s interior architecture. Our knowledgeable guide will take you along the city’s underground Pedway system and through building interiors as you visit places that even the local don’t know about!
You’ll have a shared iPad that’s loaded with images, maps and video clips, adding depth to the architectural details and the culture and history of the individual attractions while guides share engaging stories and fresh concepts.
Some of the highlights of what you’ll see on tour include examples of Chicago’s Modernist architecture, the former site of the famous Marshall Field’s department store, a church in a skyscraper and the “Chicago Picasso” sculpture. The infamous Block 37 and the spectacular Tiffany mosaics at the Cultural Center are also included.
Your guide will tell you about the psychology of architectural design, the history of department store shopping, and the development of Chicago’s elevated train system – as well as adding some colorful accounts of local personalities along the way.
