Take a trip to the future with the live Destination Solar System show. Tour the solar system, the hottest spots, and the coldest, most spectacular sights.
Night Sky Live!
Get a closer look at the sometimes strange, and often breathtakingly beautiful, diversity of objects that are right above you in the night sky.
Presented as a live show, Cosmic Wonder tells the compelling story of how, through time, we have pieced together an understanding of the cosmos. The audience is invited to ask questions and help scientists unlock modern mysteries of the unknown.
Clark Family Welcome Gallery
Discover the similarities you share with astronomers, astronauts, engineers, cosmologists, and everyday explorers. Whether you look up to the sky, build tools, or ask questions, discover the wonder we all share in common.
Astronomy in Culture
Go back in history and learn about some of the cultures that have engaged in the timeless quest to understand their place in the universe – from ancient Egypt and South America to medieval Europe and the Middle East.
Saving Time: Collecting and Conserving Sundials focuses on the themes of consumers, collections, and conservation. The exhibit explores behind-the-scenes conservation activity and the story behind these sundials both before and after they reached the Adler.
Facilitated field trips and camp experiences provide hands-on opportunities for tomorrow's leaders in the Planetarium’s Cyberspace classrooms. The open area in Cyberspace encourages exploration into and conversations about contemporary space topics.
Historic Atwood Sphere
Experience the night sky over Chicago as it appeared in 1913. Although the stars’ positions have not changed, fewer of them are now seen due to light pollution. Let one of the Planetarium’s amazing staff identify the stars and constellations you see.
Our Solar System
Explore the planets, moons, dwarf planets, comets, and asteroids that orbit the sun. The solar system is much more than a star and 8 planets; it is home to a set of diverse and amazing objects that are only beginning to be understood.
Telescopes: Through the Looking Glass
Experience the beauty and the sophisticated technology of some of the world's most important telescopes that make it possible to discover new information about the universe.
