What to Expect
You’ll be picked up at your hotel and then head to the Chiang Rai boat pier to begin this half-day northern Thailand adventure. Enjoy an hour-long tail boat ride on the Mae Kok River to Baan Ruam Mitra, a traditional Karen hill tribe village.
Experience a ride on the back of an elephant around the jungle village, and then continue on to visit a local Lahu hill tribe.
The Lahu, or Muser, people are said to have come originally from the highlands of Tibet. The Muser, Lisor, and Igor hill tribes are closely connected with the Lolo hill tribe of southern China.
Muser people have traditionally migrated within the area of southern China, Burma, Laos, and Thailand. Their unique culture and history make for an interesting visit. Stop at a rejuvenating hot spring before returning to your Chiang Rai hotel.
