Full description
Depart Chiang Mai and journey to the Mae Sa Valley region in approximately 1 hour. Arrive at the start point of your adventure on the outskirts of a hill tribe village, where you will commence a 2.5-hour hike. Start with a gradual climb as you trek past some village houses, surrounded by unspoiled jungle. Follow your experienced guide - and perhaps a few friendly dogs - on the 5-kilometer walk. As this is a local trail, there’s a chance you will encounter locals going about their everyday tasks. Discover a variety of flora and fauna, as well as a cabbage farm and another hill tribe village. Listen as your local guide shares their knowledge of the area and explains the customs of village life in northern Thailand. Stop at a picturesque waterfall for a picnic lunch of homemade Thai cuisine. Then, begin your 20-kilometer cycling trip from the waterfall, starting with mostly downhill rides along a sealed road. Turn off the main road to find yourself riding through village alleyways, rice fields and the rural roads of the Mae Sa Valley. Bike a few of the off-road trails to really get off the beaten track. End at the Orchid Farm, where you can freshen up and have a quick browse before the drive back to Chiang Mai for an approximate arrival time of 5:30 PM.

Excellent trip. Was picked up exactly at the hotel, drove about 1 hour and started with a 2.5 hour hike from a village and through the jungle. Our guide Michael Chi continuously told us about what we met. Halfway fruit and chocolate. Important to wear good shoes. Then we saw a beautiful waterfall and drove to a local restaurant that had made very delicious food. Then we cycled on good bikes for 3 hours through the most beautiful landscape of rice fields where people walked and worked, it was like overwhelmingly beautiful. Also cycled through small villages. Along the way, there was a stop for cold drinks. One must be in reasonable shape.

We had such a great Day with our guide Pan! He took good care of us, told us lots of things about plants, hill tribes and Thailand in general, we could ask him everything as well. He also got plenty of water bottles, ice tea, multiple snacks and cleaning tissues for us, nothing left to ask for. Lunch at the little restaurant was enough (soup, phad Thai and fruits) and very delicious. Hiking and cycling were both very nice, beautiful places, enough brakes to always feel comfortable, not too challenging but not too easy as well. Get on moskito spray before hiking and sun blocker before cycling. The mountain bikes were really light and good to ride as well, except squeaky brakes but that's okay. Definitely recommend if you're searching for nature, beautiful landscapes, clean air and bit of sports. Enjoy!

Super well-organized trek in the mountain! Pan is absolutely a lovely guide, he will teach you a lot about Thailand (its culture, plants, trees...), he is very thoughtful and speaks English fluently (and French also!) The bike tour takes you to amazing landscapes (rice fields...) and the hike part is right in the Thai jungle. The lunch was really good also. Highly recommended!!
