Meet elephants on this guided day trip from Chiang Mia to the anna Kingdom Elephant Sanctuary. Keep your clothes clean by wearing local clothes and boots. Travel in an airconditioned van and have the chance to feed and hug rescued elephants before sitting down to fresh lunch at a local restaurant.

Depart Chiang Mai and journey into the mountains of northern Thailand to visit the ethical Lanna Kingdom Elephant Sanctuary (approximately 1-hour drive from the city center). Upon arrival, learn about the elephant conservation program and benefit from an introductory talk and the chance to interact with the rescued animals. Get the chance to give them a hug and discover how to prepare a healthy meal to feed them. Go for a walk around the sanctuary with the elephants and stop to give them a mud bath to keep their body temperature down and protect them from parasites. The most incredible experience. The tour itself is really well organised. You get to be picked up at your hotel and taken to the sanctuary, which is 1 hour outside of Chiang Mai. Upon arriving, the elephants will come and great you. The best thing about the sanctuary is that they only have rescued female elephants from places around Thailand and Asia, where the elephants where mistreated. It's a small sanctuary, but the care takers live in the area and look after the elephants every day. You get to feed the elephants, bath with them, give them a bud bath and prepare sweet snacks for them. They also educate you on the elephants and the sanctuary itself. The people there also served us home-made food and fruit during our stay.

Our tour guide Alex was an amazing host who was extremely knowledgeable about the elephants and their care. The tour was exactly as promised - we had so much free time to directly feed, pet, and bathe the elephants which was absolutely mindblowing. My friends and I had so much fun and couldn’t believe how much interaction we got. Alex was especially helpful in explaining how to properly play and manage the elephants, and by the end we were experts. I highly recommend this tour for those looking for a fun ethical experience!

We had the most amazing day! Our guide Pu was so helpful and funny and informative. We had the opportunity for so much direct and one-on-one contact with the elephants, with the chance to feed them, cover them in mud, swim with them and get to know them. What a unique and special experience!
