Full description

Meet elephants on this guided day trip from Chiang Mai to the Lanna Kingdom Elephant Sanctuary, located in the middle of a lush national park. Here the elephants are able to roam freely in a large green space. Keep your clothes clean by wearing local clothes and boots. Feed and interact with rescued elephants before sitting down to a freshly cooked lunch.

Depart Chiang Mai aboard an air-conditioned van and journey into the mountains of northern Thailand to visit the ethical Lanna Kingdom Elephant Sanctuary (approximately 1-hour drive from the city center).

Upon arrival, learn about the elephant conservation program and benefit from an introductory talk, and the chance to interact with the rescued animals. Get the chance to give them a hug and discover how to prepare a healthy meal to feed them.

Go for a walk around the sanctuary with the elephants and stop to give them a mud bath to keep their body temperature down and protect them from parasites. Feed them before enjoying a homemade lunch at a restaurant inside the sanctuary.

Fantastic half day experience. Our guide Pooh was excellent and all the mahouts were also excellent with the elephants. We were concerned about booking this as we wanted to make sure it was an ethical sanctuary and I feel happy it was. The elephants have a mahout with them/nearby 24/7 and they said they are not chained at night. I asked other questions and they answered all of them well. The elephants are all rescued from different places which they tell you about. Optional if you would like to bathe with them. Yummy food provided. Definitely recommend, amazing experience!

We searched for a real ethical elephant sanctuary. There are many and a lot seem to be not that ethical as they’re promoting. We followed our feelings and took this one. And we don’t regret it. Our guide Alex grabbed us directly from our hostel and it took us 1 Hour to get there. Alex has a very special personality and knows a lot about the elephants that they’re keeping. We learned about every elephants history and also about the character. It was a wonderful experience staying there for an afternoon. We could feel how much the people love the animals they take care of. We totally recommend that sanctuary! Price is worth it! No riding, no forced actions!
