What a lovely way to spend our last morning in Chiangmai. Very welcoming and well organised. Exactly as described- collect food and feed the buffalo, wash the buffalo and really interesting demonstration on how rice is planted and harvested with plenty of chance to try it out as well. Followed by a lovely lunch and then back to the city again. A real highlight was that there was a large school group from the country there when we arrived and they wanted to spend time talking with us and practising their English. Totally added to the enjoyment of the day. This activity is suitable for all ages. We are a family of 6 with ages ranging from 13 to 70 and we all enjoyed the morning.

At first I was nervous because there weren’t many reviews, but PLEASE do not miss this if it sounds interesting to you at all. Our whole group loved this. It is truly a unique, once in a lifetime activity. The people are genuine and were so awesome. 10/10 would recommend this to anyone who doesn’t mind getting down and dirty.

Full description

Experience as a local farmer at a local organic farm. Learn how to harvest grass for feeding Riam Thai buffalo, learn about rice planting, and taste a delicious lunch. Hop in the red taxi service and head out to the traditional farm. Meet the farmer and marvel at the buffalo in their natural habitat. Learn all about how to feed and care for the animals from the expert. Discover how to uproot rice in a rice nursery and kick mud out from rice seedlings in the traditional way. Top if all off with a delicious local lunch of curry, herbal drink, and mango sticky rice.

A lovely trip out to a quaint farm. They showed me how to plant and grow rice and i also met their friendly buffalo before getting some lovely food and relaxing in the space. (Be aware the food is substantial and arrives just after 11am)
