Full description

Meet and feed elephants on this elephant sanctuary tour from Chiang Mai. Watch these majestic creatures up close and learn about them from specialists. Sit down to an authentic Thai lunch and stay hydrated with complimentary water.

Start your journey in the morning with a hotel pickup from Chiang Mai city center. Take the 1-hour ride to the countryside of Mae Tang district.

Get changed into the local clothes and be ready for the fun activities. The experienced guide will provide information about the elephants' behavior and how to provide proper care for them. Then, prepare food and healthy treats for the elephants and feed them afterward. After that, you and the elephants will walk to play in the mud and sand spa. During this time, you will have a chance to observe their behavior, in beautiful natural surroundings.

After your time with the elephants, change your clothes, shower, and then enjoy a delicious traditional Thai buffet lunch, which is suitable for vegetarians. After lunch, relax on the 1-hour journey back to the city and will be transferred back to your hotel in Chiang Mai city center.

It was an amazing experience. I can't stress enough how worthy it was. Our guide Woody told us a lot of details about these magnificent creatures and also replied to all of our questions. Also, the elephants seemed to be well treated and taken care off and they were never told what to do. (Aside from a couple photo tricks and we were going back to the camp). If the elephant wanted to go somewhere further in the jungle to eat, it was allowed to roam freely and wasn't forced to do otherwise. Moreover, there was only 6 people in the group so that was lovely. Whereas, usually the ones recommned by tourist information points are packed with 20-30 people. Not only that, but the ones they recommned aren't as caring with the elephants, from what I read. We mentioned to a tourist information site that we were going to this place and insisted on we cancelling it and I'm so glad we never. (We searched for the ones they offered and they didn't seem to be as friendly.) So don't be lazy!

We had 5 elephants for 20 ish people in our group, which is definitely plenty of elephants. We got to feed them an entire bag full of bananas which lasted relatively long. The mud bath was super fun as was the bathing, the mahouts and the elephants were both super careful, so at no point did i feel like it was dangerous. The showers were spacious and clean, and towels were provided. Lunch was delicious as well

A really great experience! The guide and the local people are very friendly and are really great with the elephants. Although it's a bit more expensive than local tours, it's worth every penny. We can only recommend it to everyone. The tour was carried out with four people, you have a lot of time with the elephants, even on the half-day tour. Everything went wonderfully.
