What to Expect
Explore the lovely villages of Mae Taeng on this 3-day, 2-night trekking tour from Chiang Mai. If your idea of a good time involves hiking, getting close to wild elephants, and bamboo rafting, this is the tour for you. Stay in local villages and eat delicious meals, while learning about the region from your expert guides.
Day 1: (Meals: L, D)
Get picked up from your major hotel in Chiang Mai and journey by truck to the North of Chiang Mai. Along the way, stop at a traditional Mae Malai local market where you'll be able to see vendors selling products of the region. Lunch will be provided near a waterfall. Afterward, drive to Huay Nam Dung National Park and the lovely Shan Village. Next, embark on a 1.5–2 hour hike to Karen Hill Tribe Villages, where you'll have a lovely dinner and stay overnight at Karen Village Baan Mae Jok.
Day 2: (Meals: B, L, D)
You're served breakfast in the morning, which is followed by a 3-hour trek to an elephant camp. You'll have lunch, then a fun and exciting elephant ride through the forest lasting 1–1.5 hours. Your elephant takes you to Karen Hill Tribe Village Bann Pa Khaolam, where you'll have a delicous dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3: (Meals: B, L)
After breakfast, take a 1.5–2 hour smooth rafting trip to a Lahu Hill Tribe Village, stopping once at Karen Village. Next comes a thrilling 2-hour bamboo rafting trip to Shan Village, where you'll have a tasty lunch before you are driven back to Chiang Mai.
