Countryside Bike Tour From Prague To Karlstejn Castle

This Karlstejn Castle Bike Tour rolls you southwest of Prague along the Vltava and Berounka Rivers and through the Czech countryside to the gothic fortress built by King Karel IV to house the imperial jewels and his collection of holy relics. Karlstejn Castle, with its enchanting, monumental architecture is one of the most-visited castles in the country. You start the guided bike trip to Karlstejn in the center of Prague and cycle about 3.5-4 hours on a flat terrain. During your trip you will pass through several villages, making observation and refreshment stops. Upon your arrival at Karlstejn Village, you stop for lunch in a traditional Czech restaurant (not included). Then, you leave your bikes behind to walk (15 minutes) up to the castle grounds. Your guide will introduce you to the history of the castle as well as the life of Karel IV and will show you castle exteriors, courtyards, and viewpoints. During the whole tour you will be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who will make sure that you have a pleasant and safe adventure.

The ride was very enjoyable but a little stressful getting out of Prague. The bikes were excellent but if we were to do it again we might choose e-bikes because there were a couple of challenging inclines. The castle is worth the trip with amazing views. Our guide Richard was friendly and very informative. Everybody at the bike shop was also very friendly and they all spoke English.
